Torraval member of European Clean Hydrogen Alliance
Torraval takes another step forward in its commitment to Sustainability and joins the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance (ECH2A). The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance is a recent initiative of the European Commission (EC) which has been joined by more than 500 European institutions, companies and scientific associations with the aim of making Hydrogen the key to the energy transition . One of its objectives is the use and production of clean, renewable and low-carbon hydrogen by 2030, which will be the take-off date for hydrogen technologies. Torraval, as an active social agent, continues in its commitment to contribute to decarbonising industrial processes and economic sectors such as transport, taking steps towards a sustainable industrial model based on green hydrogen. Finally, the ECH2A initiatives will contribute to the European Union’s objective of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Clean hydrogen in the value chain
To achieve the desired impact, the involvement of all actors in the value chain is a must. That is, from the production of green hydrogen to its transport and use as a fuel, as well as its use as a raw material in energy-intensive industry. Another important role of hydrogen is to provide a balance in the production of renewable electricity.
This ambitious initiative of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance will mobilise resources and investments in projects for the production and use of green hydrogen. These actions will lay the foundations for a sustainable hydrogen industrial ecosystem in the European Union.
Torraval is already involved in decarbonisation projects such as the Basque Green Hydrogen Y promoted by Iberdrola.
