At Torraval, we support our clients in optimizing their processes. One of our latest projects involved the renovation of the cooling system for a leading company in Cantabria, specializing in ductile iron pipelines for drinking water, irrigation, sanitation, construction, and industry.
The challenge: replacing a cooling tower with over 30 years of service
After more than three decades in operation, the client decided to replace their forced-draft cooling tower, installed in 1993 in their centrifugation circuit. Their trust in the previous cooling solution led them to choose the same type of tower, but with modern technological improvements in efficiency, accessibility, and sustainability.
The solution: the CTFP 2430 CB forced-draft cooling tower
To meet this challenge, we supplied a next-generation forced-draft cooling tower, designed to maximize performance and accessibility.
Main features of the forced-draft tower:
Specialized fill for contaminated water
- Made of polypropylene angles, resistant to temperatures up to 80 ºC.
- Staggered design to prevent clogging.
Benefits:
✔ Complete clogging prevention.
✔ Minimal maintenance and consistent performance.
✔ Long lifespan.
Enhanced accessibility and safety
- Includes a caged ladder, platform with railing, and a walkable grating system, eliminating the need for external machinery for maintenance.
Torraval Control System (TCS)
- Intelligent control that adjusts fan speed based on ambient temperature.
Benefits:
✔ Up to 20% energy savings.
✔ Reduced component wear and lower operational costs.
✔ Quieter operation.
Results: efficiency, safety, and sustainability
Thanks to close collaboration with the client and our innovative solutions, we have achieved a more efficient, accessible, and sustainable installation, ensuring optimal long-term performance.
