One of our projects in the process industry was the installation of a customized cooling system in a chemical industry plant. This company is dedicated to the development of chemical materials for ceramic manufacturing, such as glazes, colorants and additives, among others.
In this type of companies, where kilns and other equipment work at high temperatures, cooling systems for manufacturing processes are an essential element. As a solution to this need, Torraval has designed and implemented an innovative and efficient solution with water cooling towers.
Installation of open circuit cooling towers
Our customer had two old cooling towers. Our job was to design two more efficient CTFP 2424 cooling towers without modifying the existing thermal program. One of the significant improvements of the new equipment is that it maintains the desired outlet temperature consistently, even in the hottest months.
Features and advantages of the CTFP tower
- Increased energy efficiency due to reduced energy consumption compared to previous towers.
- Advanced control system. The integration of the Torraval Control System improves water treatment management, optimizing both hydraulic and electrical consumption.
- Optimized maintenance process. The perimeter railing and the cat ladder facilitate safe access to the tower. In addition, easy access to the main tower components simplifies tower maintenance.
- Improved heat exchange process. To ensure optimum performance at all times, a mixed semi-wiggle fill has been included, along with an open channel system and splash plates.
Cooling tower installation and assembly
As a cooling tower manufacturer, we subject all our towers to rigorous quality testing. CTFP 2424 towers have been fully assembled and tested prior to assembly at the customer’s site, allowing us to reduce installation time. During commissioning, our technicians ensured that the cooling equipment performed correctly and as expected.
Customization tailored to the client’s needs
This project demonstrates Torraval’s ability to offer customized cooling solutions according to the needs of each client. In this case, we were asked to paint the towers in a customized color, different from the RAL usually used.
