Open circuit towers are direct cooling equipment in which there is a direct contact between the water to be cooled and the air flowing countercurrently through the tower at the filling . The water transfers heat energy to the air by evaporation until saturation.
The range of Torraval's open circuit towers, has forced draft versions (CTFP) y induced draft (PMS and PME-E). The latter differ by the maximum flow per cell that a cell can recirculate, being 150 m3/h and 450 m3/h respectively. In the case of CTFP, the maximum flow per cell is 250 m3/h.
